OneDrive for Business

OneDrive for Business is an online document storage and sharing tool that faculty, staff, and students can access through the web at www.usc.edu/onedrive or through desktop and mobile applications.

Features of OneDrive for Business

  • Store up to 250 gigabytes of documents (except iVIP and Org OneDrive accounts which will be limited to 100 gigabytes).
  • Share files with fellow USC faculty, staff, students, and anyone with a Microsoft account.
  • Edit your documents online using Microsoft’s Office Online software.
  • Upload files up to 10 gigabytes in size.

OneDrive for Business versus OneDrive

OneDrive for Business is not the same as the commercial OneDrive service that Microsoft offers to individuals for personal online file storage. OneDrive for Business provides online storage for your USC work documents and enables file sharing with anyone who has a Microsoft account, including colleagues at other universities.

NOTE: Devices running the Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 operating systems have a built-in OneDrive app. This app works only with personal OneDrive accounts; you will not be able to use it to access your OneDrive for Business account. For information on apps that can access your OneDrive for Business account, please see the OneDrive For Business Apps for Desktop and Mobile Devices page.
