Zoom and Slack Channels Ready for Fall Classes

ITS has completed auto-provisioning Slack channels and Zoom links for fall classes. (Auto-provisioning is setting up classes in the system so they are ready to be joined participants.)

All auto-provisioned Zoom links for the fall semester are available on Blackboard.usc.edu.

Open office hours are scheduled for Zoom and Slack
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10-11 a.m., during the first two weeks of the semester.

The Zoom slides cover basic Zoom training and additional topics such as:

  • How to start meetings from Blackboard.
  • How to hide/disable Zoom Pro Link if the instructor chooses.
  • How to enable the Zoom Transcription Service VS Cloud recording transcription.
  • How to set in-meeting chat options and more host controls.

The Slack slides cover basic Slack training and tips and tricks.

Questions about Zoom should be directed to Michael Massion at massion@usc.edu, Senior UC Engineer, or Sathya Vasudeva, Manager, Unified Communications, at sathyav@usc.edu.

Questions about Slack should be directed to Andrew Grayson, Collaboration Engineer, at agrayson@usc.edu.
