As part of the ongoing Campus Voice program, we are launching an Electronic Fax service (EFAX) to replace existing analog fax technology across the University.
EFAX Overview:
- The EFAX solution transitions the University from a legacy fax service to a cutting-edge, secure digital platform facilitated by the InterFAX solution.
- EFAX provides the ability to send and receive faxes from a simple-to-use, online EFAX portal directly from your computer.
- The InterFAX online fax service is a high-capacity, reliable, and globally accessible service that enables the transmission and reception of faxes from any internet-connected application with no installations.
The new EFAX solution provides the following benefits:
- Aligns with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) initiative to sunset copper line services and provides cost avoidance and analog footprint reduction.
- Avoids long time-to-repair timeframes for aging fax and network services.
- Meets established compliance benchmarks, including HIPAA, PCI, FedRAMP, and GLBA.
- Aligns with SecureUSC protocols, ensuring end-to-end encryption and role-specific access controls.
- Provides improved user support and oversight through advanced reporting and controls.
User set-up options for EFAX:
- EFAX Group Users
- One fax number for a defined user group. All users will receive faxes sent to the group fax number and distributed to individual emails in the defined group.
- This option introduces the benefit that all group users receive all faxes sent to the group and limits the need for fax distribution within the group.
- EFAX Individual Users
- One fax number per user. The user will receive incoming faxes to the individual fax number and distribute them to their individual email.
