What is Changing?
Starting Jan. 24, 2024, the Duo experience is changing for staff, faculty, student workers, and affiliates (iVIPs). To streamline and secure your account:
- There will be a newer, streamlined Duo experience.
- We will launch a new security feature called Verified Push.
- Duo Mobile App Passcodes are being turned off.
- Other Duo login options remain the same. You will still be able to receive phone calls, SMS passcodes on your registered phone number, use Touch ID, and security keys.
- Watch this YouTube Video about the changes.
What to do
- You will automatically be prompted to start using Duo Verified Push on Jan. 24.
- If you use Duo App Passcodes now, please choose another method of multi-factor authentication.
What’s changing
- Verified Push replaces Push. Verified Push asks users to enter a 3-digit verification code during the login process. This new, additional layer of security prevents accidentally accepting a login request.
- Duo App Passcodes are going away. You will no longer be able to select Duo Mobile App passcode as a login option. If you use passcodes today, please switch to a more secure authentication option, such as Duo Verified Push.
- Login screen changes. Duo will look slightly different and have an updated URL. Upon your first login on or after Jan. 24, Duo will pick up the most secure previous login method. Once you’ve selected your authentication option, you will always be prompted with this option, and you can no longer set a default method.
Log in with Duo Verified Push
Upon enrollment in Duo, all employees will see Duo Verified Push when they attempt to log in to a number of USC applications behind Single Sign-On (SSO).
When you attempt to log in, your browser will display a three (3) digit code.
The code will need to be entered from your registered Duo device in order to complete authentication.
